Gail Lester Nieman, 77,  of Lambertville, MI, was called to his eternal home Sunday, September 17, 2017, at MagnumCare of Monroe.  He was born March 13, 1940, in Ida, MI and was the son of Harry and Lois (Smith) Nieman.  He was a 1958 graduate of Bedford High School and in 1960 earned his Associate Degree from Michigan State University and married the love of his life, Sandra J. Hiteshew on September 16, 1960. Gail was employed as a truck driver for over 30 years working for G&K Hauling out of Toledo, OH for over 20 years, retiring in 1997.  As a handyman, Gail enjoyed building homes, landscape management, gardening, but most of all spending time with his family. He was a member and served on Council at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Temperance, MI.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sandra; children, Charles (Leonora) Nieman, Kevin (Nancy Rose Brushaver) Nieman, and Kelly (Stephen) Errett; granddaughters, Jacqueline (Daniel) Cobb, Elizabeth and Tarra Nieman; great-granddaughter, Adrianna Brown; sister, Phyllis Simmons; brothers, Norman and Ricky(Erna) Nieman; several nieces and nephews and other relatives. Gail was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation for Gail will begin on Thursday, September 21, 2017 where he will lie In state from 10:00am at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 1690 W Sterns Rd, Temperance, MI 48182 with funeral services at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, his family has asked to consider donations to St. Luke’s Church / landscaping or Heartland Hospice of Ann Arbor.
